Health Economics Manager

Carlene has worked with Roche since July 2000. Her position is the Group Health Economics Manager within our Health Economics department. Let’s find out about a day in the life of a Health Economist.

Encompassing a diverse range of medical- and commerce-related backgrounds, the work of the Health Economics Department allows the general public access to drugs that enhance people’s health and quality of life.

The Health Economics Department is responsible for the optimal reimbursement and pricing of new products and new indications.

Activities that contribute to our success at Roche include: 

• Managing and preparing clinical and economic evaluations for optimal and timely reimbursement of new Roche products and indications
• Effectively sharing health economics best practices, learning’s and innovations with team members 
• Providing health economics support to all areas of the business, as needed.

Experiences and responsibilities include: 

• Managing and preparing clinical and economic evaluations
• Working closely with other Roche departments including Marketing, Medical and Corporate Affairs 
• Liaising and developing relationships with the Government, healthcare professionals, other key stakeholders and Roche head office.
