Our Ambition

It is our ambition to build and maintain "Scientific Leadership“ for the creation of innovative healthcare products and solutions, now and in the future. The RPF Program fosters creative science, engage talented scientists as postdocs, reward Roche‘s best scientists as mentors and strengthen and expand scientific relationship with academia.

By building and maintaining "Scientific Leadership“ in the context of the RPF Program we mean:

• Foster creative science as a basis for innovation. Seek and develop new scientific knowledge; exploit emerging science, technologies and methods.
• Collaborate with Academia Research Groups, partner with them for a defined period of time on a RPF R&D project
• Develop scientific talents with a Roche Postdoc Fellowship for 2 to 4 years. Postdocs are mentored by both an excellent scientist at Roche and an Academic Institute.
• One of the key aims is to advance basic science and technologies that will be published in top-rated, peer-reviewed scientific journals, if necessary preceded by patent priority applications.

Roche Postdoc Fellowship Symposia

Once a year we host a unique event where we invite the Roche Postdoc Fellows to one of our global pRED research sites. For those who cannot make it, we make it possible to participate through video conference enabling an efficient global interaction. The symposium is a major success where vibrant scientific debate, both through poster sessions and plenary lectures, between Roche Postdoc fellows and Roche employees, allows a plethora of new ideas to be generated.

The application process

The Roche Postdoc Fellowship program has been developed within Roche pRED (Pharma Research and Early Development) and allows leading pRED scientists the opportunity to collaborate with talented post-doctoral researchers and leading academic research groups around the world. Unique aspects of research applications to the Roche Postdoc Fellowship Program are that they can be submitted by any Roche scientist and get approved from within the pRED organization through a demanding scientific research proposal review process. One of the key requirements for fellowships is that the Roche mentor can identify a leading academic collaboration partner and talented postdoctoral researcher.
