My background is originally in Science, but with a M.Sc. in Mathematical Ecology and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Biology and Bioinformatics I have always been working interdisciplinary. Before joining Roche I have worked as a Postdoc in a small Biotech company. During my time at Roche I was supported to work on an Executive MBA, further broadening my interdisciplinary eduction.

My name is Marisa Bottarelli, Im working as an Internal Auditor at Roche Basel and I travel the world for my job. I like to play the piano and since I moved to Switzerland, I am learning how to ski. I always wanted to travel and take a 6 month trip around the world, and now Im lucky enough to do that for work.
My name is Kay Brunner. I am 44 years of age, married and have 2 daughters. I originally trained as a physician and later did a dual study in business administration. Ive now worked for around 15 years in different roles in the Life Sciences industry. My range of experiences covers many parts of the value chain from scientific to commercial and from Pharma to Diagnostics.
Eye contact during an interview (or meeting) can be vital. If you let your eyes wander, it can make you appear disinterested, so it's very important to keep looking at the person you're talking with. If you're being interviewed by more than one person, make sure you "share" your eye contact. By missing one person out, you can make them feel "ignored". Similarly, by focusing on only one interviewer, you can make them feel awkward. Your task is to engage with everyone in the room. Try not to look away during hard questions, and try to focus on mostly the eyes. - but don't stare! And last, but no means least - Don't forget to smile!!
