Connections is an entry level global leadership program for global high potentials, in or about to move into a formal first level leadership role. True to its name, the program connects leadership and business topics - building a shared understanding of what it means to be a leader at Roche and developing a broadened understanding and perspective on the business.

As part of a group of about 24 participants from different functions and geographies, you will go through an intense four-day development experience. Leadership Topics covered span from strategy and innovation over influencing and decision making. You will also have ample opportunity to build your intercultural skills – not only by working in a diverse group but also through related exercises and debriefs with your peers.
Connections places a strong focus on practical application: live business simulations, peer feedback, action learning, and professional coaching will all help you develop your skills further and further develop your sense for what it means to be a leader at Roche. Last but not least, when you are back at your workplace, applying your new learning’s into practice, you will get support through peer learning and virtual follow-up sessions.
Explorations
Challenging leadership simulations, intense feedback for development planning
If you are a Global High Potential, curious to learn about your strength and areas for development, have around two to five years' management experience and seek to take your development to the next level, you are a probable candidate for Explorations. The program allows you to explore some stretched challenges in leadership simulations and intense feedback for the purpose of development planning.

The programme begins with an intense three-day module comprising assessment and simulations. In a small group of approximately 12 participants, you will role-play a series of situations based on a business case, with leadership topics including strategic thinking, board presentation, resolution of conflicts, coaching and feedback, and many more. Each of the simulations is followed by feedback sessions. Individual feedback is provided not only by your peers and faculty: throughout the program we will have Roche managers joining the group to act as observers.
From this module you will walk away with a clear profile of your own specific strengths, areas for improvement, self reflective experiences and detailed feedback. Based on this profile, you will set up and drive your individual development plan over a period of 12-18 months.
Horizons
Action based learning experiences and cross divisional experiments
Designed for executives with some experience of leading other leaders, the programme helps you expand your horizons beyond your immediate field and work environment. You will grow your expertise in key areas such as leadership, innovation, superior customer orientation, and change, thus improving your access to job opportunities throughout the organization.

Innovation and collaboration are central themes of the programme. In a cross divisional group of 24, you will learn how to take personal responsibility for innovation and change, how to inspire others, and how to create an environment of risk-taking and mutual know-how exchange – an environment where innovation can flourish. You will challenge conventional thinking and experience the excitement of making new ideas "fly".
Horizons is an action learning program with an overall duration of six months, which combines classroom instruction with global teamwork and experimentation. Two training modules alternate with several months of teamwork: together with fellow participants you will work on experiments in management innovation, as well as on personal leadership development using a 360-degree feedback survey. At the end of the programme, you will have the opportunity to present your to an executive committee.
Reflections
Challenging leadership simulations, intense feedback for assessment and development planning.
This is a development program for Roche executives with significant experience of leading other leaders. As the name suggests, the program is an opportunity to take a closer look at your leadership potential, and to align your own perception of your leadership skills, behaviours and mindset with those of objective experts. By challenging yourself and pushing your boundaries, you will attain an even higher level of professional skill and exploit new opportunities to advance your development.

Areas covered include strategic thinking, board presentation, conflict resolution, coaching and feedback, and more - all based on Roche leadership principles and competencies.
Muck like Explorations (for first level leaders), Reflections is an assessment programme conducted in a group of twelve. As a participant you will be asked to make an initial self-assessment, before being put through your pace in a three-day succession of individual and team-based role-play, group discussions, and simulations. Role-plays resembling future leadership challenges will partly be recorded on video; feedback is provided by peers, faculty, and executive observers. At the end of the program you will receive a written evaluation that will serve as the basis for an individual development plan.
Postdoc Fellowship Programme
Internally known as RPF, this programme aims to build scientific leadership by expanding and strengthening our scientific exchange and collaboration with academia. Specifically, we offer talented post-doc graduates the opportunity to join us as fellows working on a specific topic, co-mentored by people from both inside Roche and external research institutions.
