May 1, 2009 — The San Francisco Business Times has just ranked Genentech the #1 Best Place to Work in the Bay Area among local companies with more than 1,501 employees. The ranking is entirely based on employee responses to a confidential 37-question survey completed between February 13 and March 6. This is the fifth year that Genentech employees have participated in the survey and the third time we've been ranked number one. (We also took the top spot in 2006 and 2007.)
