Europe
Austria
Austria participated in the "great place to Work 2008" and ranked No 13 on the Top 25 employers list in Austria.
Denmark
Best pharmaceutical employer in 2008, ranked No 4 best employer on the list of all industries in Denmark. Great Places to Work Insitute performs the surveys. Pharma Denmark is No 13 on their European List.
Germany
Roche Diagnostics reached again 3rd place in the German Universum Young Professional Survey just behing two state-run companies. The ranking of industrial companies is led by Roche Diagnostics as an attractive employer.
About 2,500 e-fellows.net scholarship holders participated in the annual Employer Brading Survey held in October 2008, which is a cooperation project of e-fellows.net, TNS Infratest, DIE ZEIT and the Chair for Marketing Management at the HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management. The survey investigates what high potentials expect from the ideal employer, the appeal of different industries, functions and positions for career entry and the perception of selected employer branding. Roche Diagnostics took first place for the 4th year in a row and continues to be a "First Choice" employer.

Italy
Roche Diagnostics Italy received the Assolombarda ( regional industrial association) Intellectual Capital Value (IVC) prize awarded to the company that got 1st place in the "Multinational" category. The ICV Award is based on the ICV scheme, whose model is made up of 3 main elements: Structural Capital ( Identity value, Integration value); Human Capita (Motivation value; Competences value, Talents value).
Norway
Norway ranked No. 9 in Best Place to Work 2008. ( Survey by unlimited / JRA)
Russia
Russia ranks No 7 in the 10 best Employers in Russia out of 72 companies.

Spain
Roche Pharma reached 6th position in the ranking of the preferred companies to work for - from all industry sectors.
Roche Pharma took part in "the Best Workplace" Spain 2008 and moved from ranking No 8 in 2007 to ranking No 5 in 2008.
Certified as " Family Responsible Company" granted by a foundation linked to the ministry of Employment and audited and approved by Lloyds.

Roche recognised as No 2 company of Choice for Field Force. (Source pharmaceutical Field Magazine, June 2008).
Australia entered for the 1st time the Australian and New Zealand Hewitt's Best Employer Survey and achieved an overall Engagement score of 83%. This places Roche Australia as being in the high Performance Best Employer Zone.
Participation in a local climate survey titled "The Voice Survey" conducted by Macquarie University, overall engagement score of 83%. The Voice has a database of around 750 companies in Asia Pacific which it uses to benchmark against. Roche Australia is one of the top performers in the data base.
Roche took part in an Employee Engagement and Satisfaction Survey and achieved an Engagement Score of 79% which is in the high Performance / Hewitt Best Employer Range.
New Zealand
A total of 217 organizations registered to participate in the New Zealand unlimited / JRA Best Places to Work Survey 2008. Roche New Zealand ranked 8th in the small to medium workplace category, of which a total of 81 organizations participated.
North America United States
magazine announced in its November / December 2008 issue that Roche ranks No 1 for the sixth year in a row among the top companies to sell for in the United States. The ranking is based on responses to a survey sent to top Sales Executives, Training Managers and Human Resources Managers. The magazine's editors base the rankings on criteria in three categories: compensation, training and career mobility. Roche scored the highest with 77 total points out of 100.
Roche consistently ranks among the top 20 employers on Science Magazine's annual survey of Top 20 Employers in the Biotech and Pharmaceutical Industry.
Roche was named one of the top biopharmaceutical employers in the journal "Science", published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Roche was listed as No 6 in 2008, up from No 18 in 2007.
Genentech
Fortune magazine named Genentech on the "100 Best Companies to Work For" for the tenth consecutive year. This year Genentech is number five on the list.
In April 2008, "the San Francisco Business Times" named Genentech number two on its list of the " Best Places to Work" in the Bay Area. The ranking was decided largely on the basis of employee feedback via an online survey.
In May 2008, Fortune magazine ranked Genentech number 41 on its list of "Top 100 MBA Employers."
In September 2008, "Working Mother magazine named Genentech one of the " 100 best Companies for Working Mothers". The list identifies companies who are using company-wide benefits and programs to ensure the retention and advancement of working mothers.
In October 2008, Genentech was named "top employer in the biopharmaceutical industry" by Science magazine. Science's annual survey of Top Employers polls employees in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and related industries.
Roche Argentina (including Pharma, Diagnosctics and Diabetes Care divisions) ranked No 2 among companies with 200 to 1'000 employees in Argentina, and No 1 among Pharmaceutical Companies - this was Argentina's first participation in the survey made by Revista Apertura.
Colombia
Roche Colombia ranked No 6 of the Top 100 Great Place to Work in Latin America.
Mexico
Roche Mexico ranks No 5 among the Top Companies and 1st Pharmaceutical company.
Peru
Roche Peru rank No 14 among the Top 30 Companies, and 1st Pharmaceutical company. ( Great Place to Work Institue Peru)
