Artisan Assistant


The minimum requirements for this position are:

Main Purpose
  • The Artisan Assistant ensures that machinery in the Mechanical Services Section is maintained by stripping machinery and boilers and cleaning filters, installing machinery and servicing machinery

Education

  • Minimum Matric

Experience

  • 2 Years experience as an Artisan Assistant
  • Ability to use a forklift


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that machinery is stripped by providing assistance with the stripping of machinery and following the instructions of the Artisan
  • Ensures the cleanliness and orderliness of work area and machines by cleaning and maintaining machines according to Roche Safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Ensure that machinery is installed by providing assistance with the installation of machinery and equipment and following the instructions of the Artisan or the Mechanical Services Foreman
  • Ensure that machines (compressor and boilers) are maintained by monitoring machinery on a daily basis, performing monthly maintenance duties and following the instructions of the Artisan or the Mechanical Services Foreman
  • Ensure a steady gas supply by filling gas bottles as and when required
  • Ensure that the tools storeroom is in order by sorting the various goods according relevant categories
