"On the job" training

Trainees at Roche gain an insight into different work areas through participation in specific projects and are systematically introduced to their future career area. Via project work and training activities such as seminars, workshops and lectures they broaden their knowledge and skills base and expand their personal network of contacts before taking responsibility for a particular area. To participate in this type of programme, applicants must be highly flexible and, depending on work area, highly mobile in order to be able to take on assignments abroad during the traineeship.

As an "on the job" newcomer, you will take on responsibility in your specialist area straight away. If you have completed your studies with good grades and obtained initial practical experience, have a very good command of English paired with teamwork skills, strong communication skills and personal dedication, there is an excellent chance that you’re the right person.

"On the job" traineeships are available in almost all Roche departments, for example Pharma Finance and Pharma Development.

Traineeship with Pharma Technical Operations

Within Pharma Technical Operations, trainees will gain an insight into the operating procedures of the following units: chemical-, and biotech production and formulation, the packaging and supply centre, quality management, and technical services. A traineeship lasts between 12 and 18 months and is broken up into 3-4 individual stages, during which the trainee will mainly be involved in project work. The duration of each stage will be determined according to the task set and/or the complexity of the project; the trainee's wishes will also be taken into consideration. The projects the trainees work on are real: they will be generating genuine added value, thus greatly contributing to motivation.
