Global HR Business Partner

Purpose

  • Provides services to and advises the Line on the people related aspects of their business strategy and operations for the function within which they operate.
  • Ensures high quality HR Service are provided consistently, timely, effectively and efficiently to their Global function, meeting and exceeding agreed service levels, supported by metrics.
  • Ensures support to Heads of Site Business Functions through the Local/Site HR Business Partner where required.
  • Leads (position, communicates) and manages a consistent implementation of HR strategy and HR business practices/ products/ solutions generated or acquired by the Center of Excellence, within the Pharma function by the Regional HR Business partners.

Qualifications/ Expertise

  • University degree or equivalent
  • HR generalist role for several years
  • Multinational role 3-5 years
  • Assignment abroad 2-3 years or equivalent working experience abroad
  • Significant experience in multicultural complex matrix organizations
  • Managing direct reports 2-3 years
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, advantage in speaking the language of the local environment (german);

Knowledge

  • Understands HR processes in large companies
  • Appreciates the diversity of working across multiple cultures and countries

Local Human Resources Business Partner

Purpose

  • Handling all HR matters for an assigned employee group

General duties

  • Coordinates HR planning in matters

  • Coordinates HR planning in matters
  • Manages the entire recruiting for permanent and temporary positions at the Basel site and for certain key positions
  • Determines, manages or coordinates HR solutions with line management support and in consideration of constraints posed by local laws and customs
  • Advises line managers and employees on a variety of HR matters
  • Heads the annual promotion and salary review for the area of responsibility at the Basel site
  • Monitors compliance with the employee appraisal process
  • Retirement regulations (early retirement, etc.)
  • Takes on role of arbitrator and ombudsperson
  • Takes on project work in connection with HR topics
  • Supports initiatives on issues such as the multinational workforce and diversity management

Qualifications/ Expertise

  • University degree
  • Willingness to pursue further training in HR / potential to take on additional tasks
  • Minimum of 2 – 5 years’ experience in operational HR positions
  • Solid command of German and English
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Customer-orientation, ability to establish a good rapport with other business partners
  • Ability to make well-deliberated decisions at the appropriate time
  • Eye for detail / nuance
  • Ability to handle conflict situations in a professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the legal parameters of the Swiss labour market
  • Knowledge of the global, divisional and local strategies
  • In-depth specialist knowledge in an HR field
