Purpose

Provide comprehensive advice and support in several fields of Law·

• Is responsible for a particular sphere of activity
• In Pharma or Diagnostics Division: Advise Research, Development, Licensing, Marketing, Product Liability, Services etc.
• In Corporate Functions: Counsel Roche companies, at national level; close cooperation with the various Corporate Finance departments
• Prepares agreements; participates in negotiations
• Coordinate within Roche
• Addresses and deals with specialist areas
• Undertakes ongoing further education and training in specialised fields (e.g. Corporate Law, Competition Law, etc.)
• Contributes to compliance programs (esp. education/training, presentations, prepares guidelines etc.)
• Instructs external attorneys in conjunction with legal cases and proceedings in which Roche is involved
• Participates in M&A transactions
• Develops network within Roche
• Embodies and lives up to Roche Corporate Principles

Qualifictions / Expertise

• University law degree
• Bar examination
• JSD, LLM or other further education or specialization desirable but not a condition
• Sound judgement skills (proper assesment of legal and business risks)
• Leadership skills ( responsible, problem solver, team player, integrity)
• Communication skills ( responsive, accessible, sense of urgency, able to listen)
• Negotiation skills
