Not to be confused with Postdoctoral Research Fellowships, these programmes are for Specialist Trainee Doctors who are undergoing specialist training within the NHS.
The programme is designed to give Specialist Trainee Doctors the opportunity to step out of programme to do a 6-12 month in industry experience to enhance their training.
Depending on the programme, this will involve an in depth overview and insight into drug development, whilst gaining further perspective on where medically trained professionals can support Roche to do what patients need next.

The Clinical Development Programme is aimed at Medical Doctors who are currently undergoing specialist training (StR/SpR) in Oncology.
The programme was designed to diversify and broaden clinical training through exposure to clinical research methodology from the pharmaceutical medicine perspective. The programme will be 1 year in duration, primarily based at Roche Products Ltd in Welwyn Garden City, UK, within the Clinical Development Group; responsible for the strategy, design and execution of early phase clinical trials.
There will be the opportunity for travel and direct interaction across Roche/Genentech. Your supervisor will be an experienced, UK accredited Consultant Physician Based in Roche, Welwyn working within Clinical Development.
In order to take up the post, you will be expected to have an Out Of Programme (OOP) approved by your Training Programme Director/Deanery.
The Roche pRED Ophthalmology Clinical Fellowship is aimed at Medical Doctors who are currently undergoing specialist training (StR/SpR) in Ophthalmology .
You will be working with a group of Ophthalmologists, scientists, PhD students and Postdocs. in the Ophthalmology Department within Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). You will gain valuable knowledge, contacts and opportunities to further your career.
The Roche pRED Ophthalmology Clinical Fellowship is a new flagship programme designed to diversify and broaden clinical training through exposure to clinical research methodology from the pharmaceutical medicine perspective.
The fellowship will be 1 year in duration, primarily based within the Ophthalmology Translational Medicine Group. The Ophthalmology team in pRED is responsible for the strategy, design and execution of early phase clinical trials.
As a member of Ophthalmology team, you will be part of a truly international group that includes scientists and clinicians that are developing ophthalmic medicines for the future.
