"I think Roche is a very customer- and employee-focused company, and I can identify myself with the global goals and objectives. One of the key aspects of the Roche culture is that we feel valued and appreciated here, even as interns. This was very important to me when I joined the company."
I joined Roche in June 2017 as an intern in the former HR Operations department, which is now called People Support Solutions. First, I supported the EMEA region with HR lifecycle processes. Something I enjoyed early on was that I had the opportunity to try my hands at different tasks. I became increasingly interested in the local HR processes, so after a year, I transferred to the corporate HR team as an intern, where I provided support with HR coordination and business partner-related topics. I was fortunate to have such a supportive team that encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. In October 2018, I applied for the newly opened HR Coordinator role and started working as a full-time employee. At this time, I mainly supported Business Partners, but many project opportunities prepared me for my next potential career move. For example, I was involved in exit interviews, performance management topics, and advisory tasks. In February 2020, our team was reorganized, and I became an HR Generalist. The main focus of the new team structure was to improve employee experience further and tackle problems faster.
