I'm fortunate to be a part of an organization that understands what it feels like to work amidst the uncertainty of a global pandemic. The company's response to the unprecedented situation has been very supportive.

I joined Roche in March 2020 as a Learning Specialist in the Global Learning Solutions (GLS) department. My duties encompass different responsibilities related to our learning management system. In addition, I perform an advisory role to our local learning experts at other Roche affiliates around the world. My work has a strong coaching and mentoring component as well. In the summer, I had the opportunity to virtually support our colleagues at the new Kuala Lumpur site. Taking on additional projects along my journey has exposed me to various new areas. As such, I act as a social coordinator in my team and help organize online team events. In addition, I'm part of the People Choice Award Committee, where I collaborate with other GLS members. I find great value in empowering others and solving challenges together.

Our impact
The impact of my work can be best illustrated by how I do things. With my strong background in working with people, I continue to hone my skills and build trusting relationships with my colleagues and stakeholders. I'm driven by my desire to do my part well so that others can also do their share of work well. Since the pandemic's arrival, my colleagues and I have tackled multiple challenges successfully.

Our team consists of motivated and talented individuals and we take ownership of our work. I think we are successful because of the strong and trusting relationships within the team. Our stakeholders know as well, that we handle their requests with professionalism and care. Another achievement I take pride in is our virtual team-building with our Kuala Lumpur colleagues that I organized. It was a great success and served as an expression of our care for each other. I am visible and appreciated in my team, and it feels good to be recognized for my contributions.

The place to Work
Although I'm fairly new to the “Roche world”, I only have good impressions about the company. Shortly after I started working here, we entered a nationwide lockdown. I'm fortunate to be a part of an organization that understands what it feels like to work amidst the uncertainty of a global pandemic. The company's response to the unprecedented situation has been very supportive. Roche provides job security, and we're well-equipped to meet the challenges brought by the pandemic.

The company offers a generous employee benefits package, including health insurance and the popular Szép Card. One of the things I love about Roche is that work-life balance is a top priority. We are encouraged and supported to make a commitment to our physical and mental health, finish work on time, and take time off.

Our culture
There's a clear focus on the employees in our company culture, creating a space for personal and professional growth. In my team, we have a group chat where we stay connected throughout the day. My work allows me to collaborate with people from different cultures and time zones. Understanding the different ways of thinking and communicating is a fantastic experience. We collaborate on the incoming requests and share the workload. Another benefit of covering multiple time zones is that there is always someone available to help.

Our leadership regularly asks for our opinion on different matters and listens to our feedback. We are treated as partners in changing and improving the way we work together as a company. And a fun fact about me: I was inspired to join Roche after seeing some of the previous employee stories on the company website.
