Meet Mithun | Roche

Tell us about your role in Roche.

My name is Mithun Gaikwad, and over the past 7 years, I have had the privilege of being a part of the Roche family. As a solution architect, my role involves designing and implementing cloud technology solutions that align with business objectives. I analyse requirements, select appropriate technologies, and guide development teams to ensure the successful integration and deployment of efficient and effective systems. Collaboration, technical expertise, and strategic thinking are central to my responsibilities.

Tell us about your experience of working at the Pune site

I am pleased to express my thoughts and reflections on my time spent here. From the very beginning of my journey at Roche, I was greeted with open arms and immediately embraced as a valuable member of the organisation. The warm and inclusive work environment fostered a strong sense of unity and collaboration, enabling me to contribute meaningfully to the company’s goals and objectives. The camaraderie among my colleagues was genuinely remarkable, and I always felt empowered and supported in expressing my ideas and opinions. Moreover, when I embarked on my journey with Roche Informations Solutions India (RIS), the organisation was in its start-up phase. As one of the pioneer members of the product team, I played a vital role in developing end-to-end strategies and ensuring timely delivery of commitments. Throughout this process, I have been fortunate to receive guidance and mentorship from exceptional leaders. Their support and coaching have been instrumental in my professional growth and success.

What has inspired you to be with the organisation for so long?

The fundamental principles that have shaped my 7-year affiliation with Roche revolve around the following core values: maintaining a healthy work-life balance, respecting each individual, upholding integrity and fairness, fostering an open and inclusive culture, being employee-centric, receiving support from leadership, and embracing a visionary mindset shared by everyone within the organisation.

Your learnings and how have they helped you professionally and personally?

I vividly remember the time I joined Roche. Initially, I began with site IT function work assignments. However, as I showcased my learning abilities, I redirected my career towards engineering assignments. During this transition, I received abundant support and backing from my leaders, who encouraged me to upskill and embark on a learning journey. This led to further assignments in cloud technologies, which proved to be a significant boom in the IT industry. I consider myself fortunate to have had this opportunity and, gradually, I ascended the ladder to become a cloud infrastructure architect. In this role, I engage in front-facing stakeholder management, which has immensely boosted my confidence. On a personal note, I take immense pride in referring to my professional experience at Roche, a pioneer in the healthcare industry, when discussing it with my friends, my family, and my colleagues.
