Hello, I am Myriam Eutamene, I joined the ORDP family in September 2019. I was born in France, but I grew up in Hong Kong and ended my studies in Uppsala, Sweden. I have a background in applied biotechnology and first joined Roche in Basel to perform my master thesis in Pharma Technical Development, Europe and Drug delivery.
I always wanted to find a way to use my scientific background to drive innovation from a management perspective. Thus, the ORDP program was the best fit for me to reach this goal. Along this journey we get to develop a multitude of competencies in technical operations coupled with leadership training that allows us to get the overview and skills needed to be part of Roche sustainable growth.
During my time at Roche, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to great things. Right at the beginning, I was given the responsibility to work on the local Smart Building programme at Roche’s headquarters in Basel. With that programme we wanted to make our new buildings as digital and interconnected as possible. Then I helped to strategically align our digital ambitions and establish topics like the Internet of Things (to connect different sensors and devices), digital and data strategy, and external partnerships. I am passionate about engineering and I am excited to push the boundaries of what is possible for pharma manufacturing with the use of new technologies, and to achieve the impossible for our colleagues and patients every day.
What specifically motivates me to work in PT is to discover all the different steps that need to be taken and optimized for a drug to be produced, checked and supplied to reach the patient as quickly and safely as possible.
In my first rotation with Direct Procurement Analytical services, I immensely enjoyed my interactions with multiple functions such as Quality and IT, discovering along the way how various departments connect together to reach a similar goal. It also taught me how to tackle challenges from multiple angles, adapt fast and develop my networking skills. I also discovered that this program offers you to take on real responsibilities, by enabling lead positions.
The learning opportunities within these two years are endless and the support we get from the leadership committee is outstanding. Finally, I am so glad to be part of such an international program in which you get to build strong connections and clarify your career perspective along the way. I am more than happy to recommend this program to other aspiring participants.
