Making a difference through analytics - Meet Shrey

As I’m coming from an entirely different background, entering the big pharma domain seemed like a Herculean task at first until I joined Roche, and that’s when I realized I was not alone here. My name is Shrey and I come from a chemical engineering background and have always kept a keen interest in human physiology and plant medicine.
After my graduation I got into Java development until I came across this wonderful opportunity of working with team GATE (Global Analytics and Technology Center of Excellence) which is an initiative by Roche for developing an analytics stronghold centre in India. As someone who has been inspired by big pharma documentaries, my ultimate goal has always been to help the maximum number of people using smart and efficient methods. Analytics, I believe, has a significant role to play not only in driving industrial growth but also in making a greater impact on patients receiving diagnoses. Given the chance, this was an opportunity I couldn’t miss, so I didn’t hesitate for a moment before taking it.
I joined the GATE team in December 2021 when the world just started recovering from the pandemic phase, and I have been working remotely since then. I had a very smooth onboarding experience and received excellent training and exposure to various new technologies. My team also provided me with numerous opportunities to think outside the box, for which I am extremely grateful. The anxiety I initially felt about navigating my work here didn’t last long, as the work culture I’ve witnessed at Roche has been truly phenomenal. To be honest, using the word ‘professional’ would be an understatement.

“The choice that scares you is the one that helps you grow.”
