I am Sreya Sen and I work in the GATE team as a senior competitive intelligence analyst. From a very young age, I have been an introvert, always going back to books and music to hide from the crowds. In this process of reading anything that reached me, I figured that I am extremely intrigued by how the human physiology works and by all things biology. I have completed my MTech in Biotechnology. After completing my studies, I entered the challenging yet extremely fascinating world of pharma and found myself discovering new aspects of both science and business. While working with my previous organization, I had the opportunity to travel and meet multiple people from this domain, which only resulted in an increased inquisitiveness.
Life at Roche “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.”
After eight years of fulfilling experience, I joined the GATE team in June 2022. Even though I joined remotely and met everyone that I work with through a screen, I felt comfortable and welcomed here from day one. GATE has a great culture of making employees feel accepted and valued, working with each individual to set professional development goals and helping them grow with the organization, which makes it one of the best places to work.
Since I have joined GATE, I have had the opportunity to work on multiple projects, each one different from the other. With each business problem came up a different challenge and a different opportunity to learn something new. The environment has been collaborative and supportive. We take care of any challenge that comes at us as a team. The trust that we have not just within our team but also across teams helps us contribute better. There has always been someone to reach out to at every step of the way. The ability to collaborate with colleagues across the globe while sitting in India has been a great learning experience.
“One person can make a difference, and everyone should try”

slide 1 of 10 The Perspectives Programme is an excellent way of getting to know Roche and gain insights on how we are evolving personalised healthcare for the benefit of patients. It’s also a great way to focus on your strengths and the opportunities that lie ahead. Severin Schwan, CEO Roche
GATE also recognizes the good work we do. The GATE Rewards and Recognition team conducts half-yearly and annual award ceremonies to recognize our good work and to award us for the same. This on the one hand motivates us to keep doing the good work, and on the other hand, enables us to know about all the great work our other team members are doing on a daily basis.
In our daily work we encourage and support each other to tackle the obstacles ahead while still having time for quick chats. I really enjoy the openness, courage, commitment and focus of our team, which help us solve the tasks and challenges in our day-to-day business.
The ability to contribute in making people’s lives better even in the smallest way possible has been a major contributor in my day-to-day work. I feel that in some small way I am also doing my bit for humankind. I can say that working with Roche definitely has made me grow as a professional and – most importantly – as a human being.
