Tell us a bit about yourself
Hi, my name is Tin. I was born in Guangzhou, China. I moved to Hong Kong when I was 11, and then to Melbourne, Australia, as an international student when I was 15 years old. I stayed in Australia for over 10 years and graduated from the University of Melbourne. I am married and have a four-year-old daughter. My favourite sport is basketball.
Before joining Roche, I worked in the government sector, for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), and in the chemical industry. Roche is my first employer in the pharmaceutical sector, and I am enjoying every minute here.
In which Roche location are you currently working and what can you tell us about that location as a work environment?
I currently live and work in Basel at the Roche headquarters as part of an international assignment in Finance. I commute to work by public transport. I am part of a large team – we are like a big family. I worked with part of the team when I held a regional controller role in Singapore. It’s great to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and to learn from all of them.
Why did you decide to join Roche and why at this location?
I decided to join Roche because of its full commitment to offering patients a better quality of life by driving innovation. I joined Roche China in 2012, moved to the regional office in Singapore, and am now in Basel on my assignment.
I really appreciate the opportunities and experiences open to me on my journey to becoming a well-rounded financial professional. I am grateful to learn from impressive leaders at Roche and I strive to continue to make an impact together with talented and motivated colleagues.
