I was born and raised in Malaysia, a diverse and multicultural society. I myself am multicultural, being half Filipino and half Malaysian. As an only child, I am very close to my family and they have been very supportive in every moment of my life, be it in my career or my passion for football. They are definitely the backbone of my progress and have shaped the person I am today.
It has been three years since I graduated from University with a degree in Computer Science. Like most fresh graduates, it was a challenge to lock down a job without experience.
The opportunity came in August 2019, seven months after I graduated. I received an offer to join Roche Malaysia under the Global Customer Experience (GCX) as a Junior Service Desk Analyst.
Since this was my first work experience, I was unsure what to expect, in the wake of the various stories I had heard of others’ first-day experiences on the job. I was nervous, I did not know how to handle the pressure of being a “newbie” in the working world and to top that off, I found out that I was the youngest in the GCX team. However, the reception from my colleagues overwhelmed me as they really guided me from day one on and definitely made it easier for me to settle in, which led to my first impression that Roche has such a positive environment.
