Meet Hemesh | Roche

Hi, I am Hemesh. I joined Roche in February 2021, and I’m currently working as a Senior Analyst at the Global Analytics and Technology Center of Excellence (GATE) in Chennai (India).

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by data and the field of data science. My passion for this field truly solidified during my time working as a data analyst in my first company, where I saw first-hand the potential of data science to revolutionise the healthcare sector, with the ability to make a direct positive impact on people’s lives.

Another driving factor for me to venture my career path in data science and analytics is the fact that data science being an interdisciplinary field involves a lot of creativity and is very experimental, which undoubtedly matches with my hobbies. My responsibilities as a Senior Analyst at Roche’s GATE division include working on the commercial data across the portfolio and helping the business to make strategic decisions by generating actionable insights using advanced analysis and tools, which enables it to easily scale the process across the portfolio and also account for new product launches.

There are always those forces beyond our control, but there are also those forces which are within our ability to regulate. If opportunities are rare, then one must be ready for them when they come in order to take advantage. For me one such opportunity was to become a part of the GATE team.
