The contract always starts on 1 September of the same year.
We are focused on developing a group of exceptional individuals with this programme. Rather than quantity, we prioritise excellence in our programme participants. Currently, the programme can accommodate up to 12 individuals at a time, although this number may vary.
The experiences of delivering on substantial projects in various business functions and cultural contexts are the primary source of development in Business Perspectives. We supplement these experiences with a dedicated mentor, formal training, regular peer feedback (a programme buddy) and sharing across the Business Perspectives network.
You are in the driving seat and take ownership of your career journey. In line with business priorities, and the skills you want to build, you choose your rotations and design your path for the programme. Collaborating with your mentor, leaders, and programme management, you can design assignments that foster your personal growth, continuous learning, and meaningful contributions.
Yes, there is a group of experts that will support you in obtaining a visa, work permit, accommodation, etc.
The contract location is Basel for all participants. Rotations can take place wherever there is a Roche location (more than 100 countries) and any part of Roche and our Diagnostics and Pharmaceuticals Divisions. Programme participants are required to complete a mandatory Corporate Strategy Rotation in Switzerland at some point during the two years on the programme (ideally as a third or fourth rotation).
The objective is to find a permanent role within Roche. You are fully empowered to assess opportunities and decide on your future career with Roche. It is up to each participant to find a role, but everyone is supported in this search by the programme manager, the mentor and the personal network created during rotations. Journeys of Business Perspectives alumni have taken them to places that truly span the globe; Switzerland, Russia, China, Norway, United States, United Kingdom ... you name it. Among our graduates, depending on seniority, we have country/regional/global commercial strategists, managers and leaders.
Business Perspectives has a long-standing tradition of investing in and developing early-career talent to cultivate the future leaders who will drive our organizational goals and ambitions. The program was established in 2003 within Roche Diagnostics and expanded to our Pharma division in 2009.
Today, we have around 40 Perspectives alumni actively contributing across the company in roles spanning Switzerland, Spain, the UK, France, the Netherlands, the USA, South Korea, and China. Our graduates hold influential positions, including our CEO, Head of Go-to-Market RIS, Head of Business Support and Strategic Operations, Marketing Lead, and Head of Commercialization Enablement, among others.
Yes, all nationalities are welcome to apply. If you are selected, Roche will support you in obtaining a visa and a work permit.
