• Year 1994: Shanghai Roche Pharmaceuticals Ltd. was established as the first multinational company in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park.

• Year 2004: Roche Pharma China R&D Center was established, which was the first fully owned foreign-funded R&D centre in Shanghai, as well as the first Roche R&D centre in an emerging market.

• Year 2007: Among multinational pharma companies, Roche took the lead in building a complete pharma value chain covering R&D, manufacturing and commercialisation.

• Year 2018: Pharma China became one of the 8 key countries of Roche Pharma International.

• Year 2019: the R&D center was upgraded to a brand new Roche Innovation Center Shanghai (RICS) with a total investment of RMB 863 million.

• Year 2021: With an investment of nearly RMB 300 million, the Roche Accelerator was officially launched.

• Year 2022: RICS evolved into an autonomous research and early development unit, China Innovation Center of Roche (CICoR), as part of the company’s efforts to foster innovation and R&D in China. CICoR’s research focus spans predominantly across the disease areas of Immunology and Oncology, with an aim to constantly deliver innovative medicines to patients in China and worldwide.

• Year 2023: The building of Roche Accelerator was inaugurated.

• Year 2023: Roche Diagnostics China officially established the China Technology Innovation Center.

• Year 2024: Roche Diagnostics  APAC signed an expansion agreement for its Asia-Pacific region Manufacturing and R&D Base. This expansion will support the development of new facilities for the production of diagnostic reagents and instruments, as well as the localisation of key product portfolios.
