The Finance Perspectives Programme is offering an accelerated induction experience into the core finance functions across our operating businesses - Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostics and Group functions divisions. 
This 2-year rotational leadership development programme provides early-in-career finance talent with unique, hands-on experience across multiple functions. Participants are expected to make a fast impact in their rotations, mastering essential foundational finance skills while navigating complex challenges. You will work closely with inspiring senior finance leaders, gaining the strategic and analytical skills required to shape the future of healthcare through sound financial management. At Roche, careers are tailored to each individual - participants take charge of their path, supported by a Programme Manager, Mentor, Buddy, and Rotational Managers. The programme identifies high-potential early in career talent, accelerates their professional development and enables them to be key contributors to Roche's purpose - "Doing now what patients need next".

Programme Overview

This program is your direct path to finance leadership. Designed to develop individuals who demonstrate excellence in finance and business acumen, its primary goal is to accelerate your professional development and prepare you to become a future leader. You will build a well-rounded understanding of Roche’s business model and finance functions across different divisions, expanding our talent pool with strong global expertise and mindset.

To be a successful candidate, you must meet the following requirements:
  • Strong interest and willingness to develop a career in finance in the Healthcare industry
  • Working experience in a role in finance, healthcare industry, tech or consulting, ideally around 3 to 5 years
  • Global mindset with a high degree of global mobility during and after the programme
  • Excellent academic profile: MBA or master’s degree in finance, business, data science or life science
  • Full English proficiency, any other language is a plus
       
In addition, strong candidates meet the following requirements:
  • Lived in an emerging market and built a deep understanding of VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment
  • At least one year of experience abroad, either through work or study outside your home country
  • Exposure to projects related to innovation in digital or advanced analytics technologies

For a rotational period of two years:
  • Participants will be involved in 4 assignments, each rotation being between 4 to 8 months long
  • The assignments will cover different geographical locations of Roche’s business
  • Each of these assignments will introduce participants to different areas within finance as well as the different divisions of Roche: Pharma, Diagnostics and Group Functions

During the programme​​​:
  • Experience through assignments in Group functions - finance, pharma and diagnostics at headquarters and at affiliates in different countries
  • Receive mentorship and gain valuable exposure to senior leaders in finance
  • Wide networking opportunities across different functions
     
After the programme:
  • Increased readiness for further leadership roles in finance
  • Global working experience and a cross-cultural mindset

We have a proven support structure in place to guide you throughout your journey.
  • Steering Committee: Senior finance leaders who provide strategic oversight and sponsorship, ensuring program sustainability and facilitating high-level visibility for your career development
  • Programme Manager: Manages the overall program lifecycle and recruitment, acting as your dedicated end-to-end coach and serving as the primary interface with the Steering Committee
  • Mentors: Senior leaders assigned to guide your personal and professional growth, helping you navigate Roche’s culture and identify long-term retention and career opportunities
  • Rotation Managers: Collaborate with you to define rotation scope, provide day-to-day coaching and onboarding and connect you to local networks
  • Enabling Teams: Includes People & Culture and Global Mobility teams for logistical support, alongside a strong Alumni network acting as "Onboarding Buddies" to speed up integration
